Daddy's Truck

I'm an airline pilot by trade.  I had just come off a trip and my family was all gathered at my uncle's house where they had been swimming and hanging out all day.  The kids were young, 2 and 5.  We were chatting and discussing where all I'd been when we looked around and didn't see my 2 yr old son.  Immediately, we began searching for him and thought he may have gone to the pool.  After 15 terrifying minutes, we were relieved when my wife finally found him outside standing next to my truck, saying "I wanna ride in Da Da's truck."  I could already hear the chorus in my head.  So, a few days later, I wrote the song.  It's written kinda from the prospective of one of my kids when they're grown and maybe I'm gone.  Up until recently, it's the only vehicle they've known.  They could hear me coming before they saw me with the loud exhaust and big mud tires.  They loved riding in it as much as I do.  I doubt they'll ever forget it.  I know I won't.  I'd love to hear your similar stories.  Feel free to respond to the email or even put them in the comments of the "Daddy's Truck" video, link below.  There's already a ton of comments there.  I love reading those stories.

Daddy's Truck

These are some photos from the "Daddy's Truck" video shoot.  Also see the rear end of  Johnny Cash's Cadillac.  My mechanic also works on "The Psychobilly Cadillac" that was from the song "One Piece at a Time" by Johnny Cash.  This pic is from when "Daddy's Truck" and the "Psychobilly" were in the shop together.  Pretty cool.
